Learn To Free Your Voice, Not Fear It

REGISTERS IS DEDICATED TO HELPING YOU DISCOVER YOUR BEST VOICE

Sing from the diaphragm, drop the larynx, elongate the vocal tract. These are common phrases heard during a vocal lesson, but what do these terms actually mean? At Registers, we take the complexity of the biomechanics of the voice and simplify it to teach you:

  • How voice mechanics work

  • How you are currently using your voice

  • And how to improve the efficiency of your voice

Meet the Instructor - Matt Dell

As a vocal instructor for the past 7 years, Matt has worked with artists whose skills range from beginner to working professionals, some of which include Oakville rock band Seaway and Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery. In addition to his role as a vocal coach, Matt provides instruction in songwriting, confidence-building through improv comedy, and navigating the music industry.

Matt’s passion has always been helping others learn and grow as artists. His approach to teaching uses a biological and physiological method to help students better understand how the voice works, how their voice is currently working for them, and how to make it work more efficiently for their singing.

Early in his career as a vocal coach, Matt recognized that singers commonly experienced vocal injury and/or fatigue. In order to help his clients strengthen their voice and avoid future risk, Matt studied vocal anatomy and delved deeper into the biomechanical science behind how the voice functions. Matt has studied vocal pedagogy and received certifications in Evidence Based Voicework from Maddie Tarbox Vocal School (Voice Faculty at Shenandooah University) and MVP Masterclass For Voice Professionals with Melanie Tapson.
